NuVolt Canada
The NuVolt architecture, deployed for the Canadian market with region-specific products and compliance.
NuVolt Canada is the Canadian subsidiary of NuVolt Group, distributing electrical equipment across Canadian provinces. The subsidiary needed its own digital presence with region-specific product data, Canadian pricing, and compliance documentation relevant to the Canadian market.
After the NuVolt Group platform launched, the Canadian operation needed its own site — not a copy, but a properly regionalized version with different product lines, Canadian certification standards, and a distinct market identity while sharing the underlying architecture.
- Deploy the NuVolt database architecture for the Canadian product catalog
- Regionalize product data for Canadian compliance and certification standards
- Maintain visual consistency with the parent brand while serving a distinct market
- Give the Canadian team their own product management CMS
How we built it.
The NuVolt Canada project leveraged the architecture already built for NuVolt Group, with a separate database instance for Canadian products and certifications. Canadian-specific attributes — CSA certifications, provincial voltage standards, bilingual product names — were added to the data model.
The visual design was adapted to maintain brand consistency while introducing subtle regional differentiators. The admin CMS was replicated with the Canadian team's permissions and workflow in mind.
What changed.
The Canadian subsidiary launched with a complete digital product catalog within weeks, rather than months, by building on proven architecture. The Canadian team gained product management independence without requiring developer involvement for catalog updates.
"This was a case where having built the foundation correctly the first time made the second deployment efficient. The data model accommodated regional variations without structural changes — which is exactly what good architecture should do."
